aioneers’ methodology for calculating the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) has been certified by TÜV Rheinland.
To reduce carbon emissions effectively, it is important for companies to determine their current emission levels, within and beyond the organization's scope. Moreover, since reporting requirements such as CSRD for companies become increasingly strict, carbon emissions must be accounted for in a standardized, structured and consistent manner. The worldwide mostly used standard in carbon emission accounting is the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, which can be followed to determine a corporation´s carbon footprint.
The CCF records every emission generated by a company and entails, for instance, emissions from its own vehicles, facilities, and externally purchased energy as well as emissions resulting from purchased products or services (e.g. during production or transportation). According to the GHG Protocol, a company's greenhouse gas emissions are classified into three scopes, distinguishing between direct emissions (“scope 1”) and indirect emissions (“scope 2” and “scope 3”).
